As Senior Advisor to Ensight Canada, Andy provides an intimate understanding about how government works.

During his twelve years as the Member of Parliament for Parry Sound - Muskoka, Andy served as Secretary of State for Parks Canada, Secretary of State for Rural Development, Secretary of State for Fed Nor, Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs and Minister of Agriculture and Agri-food.

An acknowledged leader in the development of public policy Andy has a wide reputation as a consensus builder with the ability to bridge diverse opinions and positions. He has served as Chair of the Prime Minister's Cabinet Committee on Domestic Policy, and as a member of the Cabinet Operations Committee where he participated in the formulation of government priorities and plans. Mr. Mitchell was also a member of the Cabinet Committees for International Affairs, Security and Canada/U.S. and Aboriginal Affairs.

Andy served as Chief of Staff to the Federal Leader of the Opposition, The Hon. Bill Graham and assisted in the coordination of the transition to a new Liberal leader. He is highly respected by members of all political parties and by the private and public sectors for his integrity, his candor, his deep understanding of public policy issues and his ability to find solutions to complex issues.

Andy is currently involved in a number of new endeavours including President and CEO of the Greater Peterborough and Area Economic Development Corporation and teaching political science at Trent University.
